HomeThe Alzheimer Society of Huron was founded by a group of family caregivers and incorporated in 1993. It is a non-profit corporation and a registered charity, governed by a volunteer board of directors who are elected at the Annual General Meeting. The Society is supported by individual and community service sector donations, special events fundraising and also receives funding from the Southwest Local Health Integrated Network. The Alzheimer Society of Huron County is affiliated with the Alzheimer Society of Ontario and the Alzheimer Society of Canada. As a local Chapter, one of 38 in Ontario, we provide “Help for Today and Hope for Tomorrow” to persons with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders and their caregivers. How we can help -- support services
The Alzheimer Society provides information, education and support through individual counselling and support groups that provide a safe place to share information, thoughts, feelings and experiences. We help people find programs and services they need, such as day and respite programs, home support and help with the difficult transition to long-term care.
